Edgar wasn't born on the Train, but he might as well have been, he was too young to remember much else.

He doesn't remember (or never knew) that his best friend, and really his only friend, was the one responsible for his mother's death, but he does remember that self-same best friend left him to die in his quest to get to the engine.

Honestly, Edgar doesn't blame him for that, because he himself was fairly sure he was dead for at least a half hour, but good luck getting him to admit to either.
